Although the time between releases of episodes can be vast the actual joy of listening to this show more than makes up for it. Interesting characters, rich world-building, good audio/music, tight writing, great sci-fi feel and the effective hook of mysteries that you can't wait to be not only answered but explored are just a few reasons to listen to this show.
Did I initially read the title as "George Romero Is Done For" and think that the show was going to have the lead character be a resurrected zombie of the cult filmmaker going on kooky adventures? I am not at liberty to discuss that matter in this review ;) This show is in actual fact a really sweet-natured romp about a group of supernatural misfits and a lawbreaking human going on kooky adventures! As of this review, the show is still in its early days and has many roads it can go down but for the moment I can say that it is a good time with some fun characters, good audio/music, great voice acting, and it has writing that keeps you engaged. Give this podcast a shot!
Week by week these guys talk about two episodes of whatever tv show is the topic of discussion and I must say Chatz always has an astute take on the episodes at hand. Do I always agree with their takes? No, but they do a good job of explaining points of view that make you question media in a more refined way. Give this show a listen and perhaps give whatever tv show is on the table a watch, you might discover some interesting things along the way.
Episode 112 - On a dark rural PEI road on November 19, 1970, the Vuozzo family, of nearby Montague had their lives changed forever. A drunk driver, named Herb McGuigan, ran a stop sign and hit the Vuozzo's fan, killing 9-year-old Kathy Vuozzo. Kathy's parents and Little Alfred Guy Vuozzo Jr, who was only two years old at the time of the crash, survived with minor injuries as did the drunk driver. Alfred Jr. grew up hating the McGuigans, exacting revenge for his sister's death almost 44 years later. With drunk driver long since deceased, he murdered the man's son, Brent McGuigan, 68, and Brent's son, Brendon McGuigan, 39; two people completely innocent of the crime.Come see us at CrimeCon in Orlando from May 1-3, 2020. Truly a most bizarre experience. I wish I could review the podcast itself, but I'm not entirely sure if I listened to the whole thing. I started out listening to it, and I don't know how far I got because I must have blacked out. I came to in the parking lot of a Loves Truck Stop 1500 miles away from my home next to a pile blank Nintendo Switch carts labeled with red Sharpie, "Reggie's Feet," and a note taped to a brick that said, "Thanks for listening." I had to have my wife wire me my kid's college fund money so I could get back home since I didn't have any of my personal belongings. I didn't even make it home with the Reggie's Feet carts because the TSA thought they were illegal goods and confiscated them, so thanks for that. Anyway, I'm home now. I would truly recommend this podcast to anyone who claims to hates video games, podcasts, or video game podcasts, just don't be likes me though!
